Who We Are Seeking...

The opportunity provided by Trek to Teach is not for an everyday individual. This person must have a passion for life that comes through in everything he or she does. This person must have demonstrated an ability to reach others and influence them. This teacher must also have proven to be successful in his or her own schooling, and must be physically fit enough to trek uphill for hours at a time.

Pre-requirements

The hard requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (or currently working on one)
• Proven success in University
• Clean record

The soft requirements:

• Extremely outgoing
• People person
• Travel experience
• Good with kids
• Patient
• Enthusiastic

The physical requirements

• Tight spaces
• A lot of trekking
• Squatting bathrooms and small showers
• High Elevation
• Perfectly clean air
• Peace and harmony, no car horns, spectacular starry nights

Respect for culture

• Differences with food
• Buddhism and Hinduism
• Language difficulties
